RTÉ will broadcast five of the biggest games in the eircom league, beginning with the eircom League Premier Division opening fixture between Cork City and Bohemians on Friday, March 24 at 8pm on RTÉ Two, as well as four games at the end of the season as the title race comes to a climax.

In addition to live coverage of five eircom league games, RTÉ will also broadcast both FAI Carlsberg Cup semi-finals during the weekend of October 27/29 and the final on Sunday December 3, making a total of eight live broadcasts.

Glen Killane, RTÉ Head of TV Sport said: "Following the tremendous success of RTÉ's broadcasts last season we are delighted to be bringing more live eircom League and FAI Cup matches to the widest possible audience."

RTÉ attracted an average audience of 281,000 during last year's league decider between Cork City and Derry City on 18 November, with the audience peaking at 408,000 during that game.
