Bohemians beat their arch rivals Shamrock Rovers 2-0 in Dalymount Park on Friday evening. The champions made many opportunities throughout the game and Jason Byrmne converted a penalty after 17 minutes. Rovers will feel unlucky they went in at half-time without a goal as the hit the post twice. Byrne netted a second and Bohmeians were the dominant side throughout.
Derry City got out of jail as Cork were sent home without a point despite taking the lead through Latvian Guntars Siligailis in the 67th minute. Ciaran Martyn equalised in the 90th minute and Aaron Nash powered a header in injury time to compound Cork to a defeat.
Galway lost their first 100 percent record as they played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in the Carlisle Grounds. Vinny Faherty put Galway ahead, but Patrick Kavanagh levelled for Bray. When Cian McBrien put the Tribesmen in front before the break Bray looked down and out.
The game was turned on its head in the final minutes as Bray were awarded 2 penalties, but only converted one as Gary McCabe was the hero and the villan for Wanderers.
Dundalk won their first game and points as they eased past neighbours Drogheda United. The game turned in the home sides favour after 15 minutes when Drogheda defender Conor Kenna was sent off for deliberate handball in the penalty area. Chris Turner netted from the resulting penalty.
Former Bohemians striker Darren Mansaram made it 2-0 before half-time. Dudalks went 3-0 up when Turner cscored his second goal from another penalty.
St Patrick's Athletic won again in the Showfrounds as Sligo Rovers lost again.
Jeff Kenna's side have come back from their opening 3-0 defeat at the hands of Galway. Mark Leech scored the only goal of the game late on.
