The FAI's Club Licensing Committee gave League of Ireland clubs 22 Premier and First Division licenses on Monday. Four clubs Dundalk, Cork, Athlone and Kildare County have conditions on with their licences. If they fail to meet the revelvant criteria next season they will be unable to play top class football in Ireland.

Dundalk must sort out their playing surface and obtain Fifa approval as the playing surface at Oriel Park is not up to standard. Athlone Town, Cork City and Kildare County will all have to sort out cash settlements before the start of the 2009 campaign.
