Dundalk's New Pitch Given FIFA Approval

The FAI and FIFA have given approval for Dundalk's FAI Cup match with Drogheda United to go ahead for Friday night.

There was a doubt about the match after reports that the pitch was still unfit for a competitive tie but the match will now go ahead as planned.

The new pitch is turf based and is the first of its kind in the world, according to a club spokesman.
