Gareth Farrelly's contract as player/manager of Bohemians has been terminated with immediate effect.

The decision seems to be as a result of Bohemians' season effectively finishing last night after losing 2-0 to Shamrock Rovers in the FAI Carlsberg Cup.

Bohs are currently languishing in mid-table and only a super-human effort for the remainder of the season would see the Gypsies challenging for, at best, the Intertoto Cup.

His departure from Bohemians was flagged when the club today issued the following statement:

“Bohemian Football Club wish to announce that Gareth Farrelly's contract with the club has been terminated with immediate effect.

“The directors of Bohemian Football Club wish Gareth the best of luck in his future endeavours.”
