The 19-year-old will be based in England for the next two weeks, having flown to London yesterday, and will also spend a couple of days with Premiership side Portsmouth. The midfielder is a noted free kick specialist and scored twice in the second half of the league campaign for Eamonn Collins’ side.

Collins, who prized defender Clive Delaney back off the Hammers following a six-month trial for the 6’ 6” defender at the Hammers last season, admitted it was a great opportunity for Fahey to win a move to English football.

’They have been watching him for a while and decided to ask him over,’ explained the Pat’s supreme, ‘he’s to play a behind-closed-doors friendly and we will wait and see how it goes. West Ham and Portsmouth have been the two clubs that have shown the most interest in him. Keith has had a great season last year playing over forty games including two Cup finals and was also in the Republic of Ireland squad for the World Youth championships.’

’It is a great opportunity for him and I hope he can grab it,’ he added.
