The Inchicore side found the net for the first time in three league games, as a double strike from Gary McPhee in the space of three minutes (15, 17) set them on their way. The former Newry Town and Portadown striker doubled his league tally before Shane Robinson halved that lead eight minutes later.
Nearing the hour mark, the game looked beyond Rovers as former U21 striker Paul Rose hammered home his first of the league to put Pat’s 3-1 up. Trevor Molloy and Aidan O’Keefe swapped goals before Tony Grant put just one between the sides at 4-3 on 66 minutes.
Four minutes later, the Pat’s win was confirmed with a first of the season for Keith Foy, as the former Doncaster man placed a left-footed penalty to the Rovers net, to improve Pat’s Intertoto Cup chances.
