Drogheda United will meet English Coca-Cola Championship side Leeds United in a charity friendly on Sunday March 20th, on the same weekend that Paul Doolin’s
side begin their 2005 eircom League Premier Division campaign.

The first round of eircom League fixtures, which will be confirmed at the league’s AGM in Cork this weekend, will take place between March 17th and 20th.

And Drogheda’s busy opening weekend will continue with the high-profile visit of Leeds for a friendly in aid of the Gary Kelly Cancer Trust.

Former Irish international Kelly himself will be with the Leeds team for the game in his native town.

The match will kick off a bumper afternoon for sports lovers in the town – the friendly kicks off at 12 noon to facilitate those who want to attend that afternoon’s Gaelic football NFL clash between neighbours Louth and Meath.
