eircom First Division:
Limerick 1 (Finucane 25) Kildare County 1 (M Kenny 26)
Monaghan United 0 (Munteanu s/o 33) Athlone Town 1 (Molloy 88)

Incredibly the point is Limerick’s twenty-ninth in their final run of thirteen League games, including eight of their sixteen wins, that has seen them unbeaten since early September. Defender Paul Finucane hit his second goal in three games to put Mike Kerley’s men in front on 25 minutes before former Shamrock Rovers midfielder Marc Kenny equalised for Couny just sixty seconds later.
Kenny has a habit of hitting long-range goals, having marked his home debut against Dublin City in August with a 30-yard free kick goal, and he managed the trick again when just after the restart he lobbed straight into the Limerick net from the halfway line.
Kildare had further chances through Barry O’Connor and Kenny, but what they would have done for top scoring striker Philip Hughes, who is currently suspended, in their attack. Limerick closed out the game and will host Derry City next Wednesday December 3rd at the Pike Rovers ground.
At Century Homes Park, second from bottom Monaghan lost a meaningless game 1-0 to fellow strugglers Athlone, having had Moldovan goalkeeper Vladimir Munteanu sent off in the first half. Eric Molloy scored the Town winner two minutes from the end.
