Roddy Collins' City side are still ten points adrift at the bottom of the Premier Division after another poor night for the Vikings.

They had striker Robbie Farrell, who has scored just once this season, sent off nearing the quarter hour for a clash with Blues' player-manager Alan Reynolds.

Bruton's swirling corner on 8 minutes had seen the visitors hit the front as Sullivan powered his sixth of the season.

With Farrell dismissed, City strangely looked the better side, and they deservedly equalised on 35 minutes through Keith Rowlands.

Crucially Waterford top scorer Murphy netted just a minute before the break - beating Barry Ryan for his twelfth goal, and third strike in two games.

And Reynolds' charges comfirmed their fifth place positioning in the table as former Cobh marksman Bruton slammed home thirteen minutes from time.
