Bohemians 2
St Pat's 2
---
Robbie Doyle (left) had been frozen out of the first-team picture at Bohs under Stephen Kenny, primarily by the signing of Tony Grant from Shamrock Rovers last winter.
A long-running feud was finally ended when he was allowed to join St Patrick’s Athletic in August, but he returned to Dalymount Park with a vengeance on Friday night.
Grant was recalled to the side to partner fit-again Glen Crowe in attack in place of Dominic Foley, and was his side’s hero with two headed goals to leave Bohs 2-0 up at the break.
Bobby Ryan provided the assist from the right wing in the 16th minute, and shortly before the interval full back Stephen Rice sprinted down the overlap to cross for an almost identical goal, taking Grant’s league tally to the season to four.

That looked likely to be the final score as the game drifted into its final two minutes, but central defender Colm Foley gave the visitors hope when he rattled the net of recalled goalkeeper Matt Gregg (right) in the 88th minute.
Suddenly the Gypsies, who meet leaders Shelbourne twice in the next week, were jittery at the back and Doyle took advantage by sending a cracking free kick past Gregg in the fourth minute of injury time.
