All too aware of what was at stake, Rovers started well and went in front on 16 minutes.

Gavin McDonnell headed Tony Sheridan’s corner back across goal and Willo McDonagh turned well to shoot past Packie Holden.

Blues powered back into the match in the second half and levelled on 63 minutes when Crowley punished a defensive mistake to beat Barry Murphy from a tight angle.

Six minutes later Blues struck fro their winner. Waters’ powerful free-kick took a deflection off the wall to beat Murphy at his near post.
