The league champions’ run of four, two draws and two losses last month guided ensured an eleventh Premier Division title for the Drumcondra club with Harris scoring once in his striker’s role in a 2-0 victory over Cork, and also putting in some commanding performances when selected at centre back.
Harris was signed by Shels’ boss Pat Fenlon on the transfer deadline day at the end of August, and managed to find the net six times in Shelbourne’s final run-in of 20 games.
Born in Wales, Harris began his career with Swansea City but moved to Ireland in 1999, to the country for whom his grandfather was capped at senior level. He scored four times for Bohemians in his debut season, before joining St Pat’s in 2000, finding the net just once in a barren spell as a peripheral squad player.
However it was in the Saints’ U21 side in November 2001 that Harris first played in defence, and two years later he has a first League winners’ medal in his pocket.
