In a lacklustre first half, Harps had to wait until the 25th minute before their first shot on goal through Stephen Capper. At the other end Declan O'Brien twice had headers on target while Harps goalkeeper Gavin Cullen did well, at the second attempt, to deny the same player.
The second half was better with Harps lifting their game with the introduction of striker Chris Breen. The home side's best chance fell to Martin Lauchlan in the 88th minute but he just failed to steer home a Jonathan Minnock cross. Drogheda had chances to win it with Stephen Bradley, Shane Robinson and O'Brien all going close.
