Kearney and Hoolahan in action last night
The goal came after 24 minutes when full back Neale Horgan banged home a sixteen-yard shot past Dean Delaney, after some great work from Joe Gamble, for his first goal of the season.

Shelbourne almost equalised from a Jason Byrne free kick that flew over the crossbar off the defensive wall.

Shels keeper Delaney prevented Cork extending their lead when he saved a Liam Kearney deflected shot with a flying one-handed save.

In the 82nd minute Shelbourne were reduced to ten men with Richie Baker receiving a second yellow card for a reckless tackle on Kearney.

A header from Owen Heary in stoppage time almost salvaged a point for Shels but it wasn’t to be and it was Cork who left the field to a standing ovation from their fans. The Leesiders now move six points clear of second placed Derry City.
