The Students missed several gilt-edged opportunities against a Bohemians side that had failed to keep a clean sheet in their previous seven league games before last night and who were badly missing their captain Kevin Hunt.
Bohiemians took the lead after 22 minutes when John Paul Kelly hit a low drive from 30 yards that skimmed over the rain soaked surface and past Darren Quigley into the corner of the net.
The students hit back from the penalty spot in the 28th minute. Stephen Rice was deemed to have pushed Tony McDonnell in the area and Robbie Martin hammered the spot kick past Matt Gregg.
UCD had the upper hand throughout the second half but couldn’t finish off any of the chances that came their way. O'Donnell missed a great chance in the 50th minute when he blasted wide from close range. Gary Dicker and Hurley both headed wide from good opportunities and McWalter was desperately unlucky to see his shot go just the wrong side of the post in the 69th minute.
In injury-time, Bohs were reduced to ten men when Kelly was dismissed for an off the ball INCIDENT.
