With six players missing through injury, Bohemians were second best for most of the game but found themselves in front after 35 minutes when Tony Grant slotted home a penalty after he was brought down by Bray ‘keeper Chris O’Connor.

Earlier, Francesco Georgescu had struck the post for Bray with a close range effort while just after the break, Eamon Zayed also hit the post.

Zayed again went close later on turning a Colm Tresson cross shot wide while Stephen Ward could have wrapped up the points for Bohemians late on only for his close range effort to be saved by O’Connor.

And in injury time, Bohemians were reduced to ten men when James Keddy was sent off for a clash with Stephen Gifford with Bray's Robbie Dunne being sent off later on for another clash.

Bohemians: Gregg; O’Reilly, Palmer, Oman, Byrne; Harkin, Hunt, Keddy, O’Keeffe (Kelly 71); Grant, Ward.

Bray Wanderers: O’Connor; Gifford (Dunne 90), Lynch, McGovern, Keogh; Tresson, Kevin O’Brien (O’Reilly 42), Fox, Tyrrell (Kieran O’Brien 87); Georgescu, Zayed.
