Billy Clery, Liam Coyle, Tommy McCallion, Eamon Doherty and Sean Hargan are all out injured, as manager Kevin Mahon has been forced to draft in a number of U21 players to fill the gaps for the five-time winners of the League Cup competition.

Tonight will be Longford’s first ever run-out in the competition’s semi-final stage. Still without influential goalkeeper Stephen O’Brien (rib), Alan Matthews’ squad is a replica of that which travelled to Turner’s Cross, for their Friday night 4-1 loss to Cork.

Both sides are currently locked in a transfer battle, with out of favour Longford striker Eric Lavine being courted by the Candystripes for the past five months.
