Bohemians beat Athlone Town at Lissywoollen after a goal by former Shels man Jason Byrne. Derry City hammered Longford Town with goals from striker Thomas Stewart and defenders Stephen Gray and Clive Delaney, and youth player Darren McCauley.

Cork City 2 new Latvian signings showed their class with strikes as Roberts Mezeckis and Gunters Silagailis made manager Paul Doolin a pleased man. Dan Murray also netted a header.

Wexford Youths held another Premier Division team to a draw with Shamrock Rovers this weeks victims.
