Shelbourne and UCD continued to dominate the early part of the First Division campaign with both having 100 percent records. Shelbourne snatched a late win with a goal from Paddy Madden to send Waterford home from the RSC at the bottom of the First Division.
Ciaran Kilduff scored for in his third game in a row as UCD won 3-0 triumph against Monahagn United at the Belfield Bowl.
Mervue United made history with their League of Ireland point in a 1-1 draw against Finn Harps. Dave Goldbey put Mervue in front before half-time, but their heatrs were broken when Harps Conor Gethins's scored in injury time.
Sporting Fingal registered won their first game of the season with goals from Eamon Zayed and Conan Byrne against Wexford Youths.
Longford Town beat Kildare County, with a 4-0 win but it was a stalemate as Limerick FC and Athlone Town played out a 0-0 draw.
