UCD midfielder Gary Dicker sealed the victory for Don Givens' side with a 92nd-minute strike after seizing on an error by Finnish goalkeeper Niki Maenpaa.

The Irish took the lead through Bohemians striker Stephen Ward on 49 minutes after Luton Town defender Keith Keane produced a telling pass.

Arsenal's Anthony Stokes was denied a second for Ireland in the 64th minute when his shot was deflected into the ground by Maenpaa and bounced up and hit the crossbar.

Finland equalised three minutes later when Cork City midfielder Roy O'Donovan was penalised for a foul on Jarno Parikka and Perparim Hetemaj fired home from the spot.

With Portugal drawing 0-0 with Madeira in the other game in the group, Givens' side can win the trophy with victory in Friday's final game.
