Backpass brings injury to Munich-based Kendrick

Kendrick, an Irish under-20 international, joined Munich on a free transfer from Newcastle United this summer. He suffered the injury during a freak accident in training when he stubbed his foot in the ground while attempting to pass a ball back to his goalkeeper during a practice game.

The 20-year-old faces eight weeks on the sidelines but he is still expecting a call from Gerry Smith for November's World U20 championships in the Middle East.
