Thomond to host South Africa

South Africa are to play the Republic of Ireland in a friendly match on Tuesday, September 8. Giovanni Trapattoni's team will face South Africa at Thomond Park in Limerick. This is the second senior football international game to be hosted by Munster Rugby after the FAI confirmed earlier last month that we will play Australia on August 12th.

It comes 3 days after we face a tough away trip to Cyprus in the hope we will still be in for a place in the World Cup finals. The South African squad will have familiar faces like Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar and Blackburn pair Benni McCarthy and Aaron Mokoena.
