Ipswich Town have rejected Hull Citys approach for their prolific striker Alan Lee. It is thought Hull made a £600,00 bid for the Irishman only to be turned down by the Tractor boys.

Club chaiman David Sheepshanks told the club website:

"Hull City made an offer for Alan and we told them we are not prepared to sell him. We want to keep Alan and that is the end of it as we see him as a valuable member of the team."

Sheffield Wednsday have sold 32 year old Irishman Graham Coughlan to Rotherham United. The defender signed a two year contract. Another Sheffield Wednsday player Glenn Whelen may be on the way out of Hillborough after contact negotiations stalled. The 23 year old midfielder is attracting attention from Norwich and Coventry.

The Paul McShane saga continues with West Bromich Albion naming him in their latest pre-season friendlies. It is thought that McShanes medical at the Stadium of Light hit a snag when a hip injury was found. Sunderland may want him for less money as the injury could affect him later on in his career.
