Yeates to make the grade at Spurs says Allen

Yeates made the bench for last Saturday’s 1-0 win over Manchester City following a number of impressive displays for the club’s second string and Spurs manager Martin Jol has been pleased with the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international’s development.

And Allen has echoed the Dane’s sentiments and is in no doubt that if Yeates continues with his recent form, he will force his way into the first team on a regular basis.

Yeates, who spent some time on loan with Swindon earlier this season scored for Spurs’ reserves in their 2-2 draw with West Ham at Upton Park on Tuesday night as Jol watched from the stands.

"Martin was there to watch him at West Ham and he just needs to keep performing the way he has been," said the former Spurs striker.

"He was involved with the first team on Saturday and if he keeps the consistency in his game at the highest level there is no reason why he shouldn’t be involved again. I’m sure his performance at West Ham would have only impressed Martin."
