Giovanni Trapattoni has met up with 3 exiled Irish internationals in the hope of persuading them to come back into the squad. He met Boltons Andy O'Brien, Liverpool fullback Stephen Finnan and Manchester City's Stephen Ireland in Manchester yesterday. Talks seemed to have been positive good and the Italian may said it was very good.

He told the Irish Times

"I had very good meetings with all three players". The discussions I had with them have been very positive and I am confident there is a very good possibility that they will return to play for their country."

He was accompanied by his assistants Liam Brady and Marco Tardelli and will cut his 40 man squad for the training camp in Algarve to 28 players next Tuesday.
