Training camp set for Portugal

The FAI have said that the Irish squad will have a training camp in the Algarve in May. It will be the first time the players and new boss Giovanni Trapattoniand his team will be together. The training camp will help him introduce his methods and let the players get to know their new boss and his backroom team.

There will then be the Serbia friendly on May 24th at home and a trip to Norway in August. These will be crucial preparations for the start of the World Cup 2010 qualification campaign in September.

Assistant manager Tardelli will be based in Ireland for the month of April to help improve his English and take ina lot of premiership and SPL games to monitor the form of Irish players.
