Third friendly and spring ticket packages announced

This follows the recent announcement of home fixtures with Brazil on February 18th and the Czech Republic on March 31st.

CEO Rooney said the programme of friendlies was a very strong one and provided Brian Kerr and the squad with a demanding and challenging fixture list. Commenting on the three games Brian said he thought the programme was "just the type of schedule fixtures we need to test our squad".

"We've put a package together to provide exceptional value for supporters and pack the stadium", Fran Rooney said, revealing pricing and ticketing details for the upcoming games.

Tickets are being sold as a package of three costing as little as €60 for an adult and €15 for children under 16.

"We've been looking at ways of marketing our game in a more attractive way and this package is indicative of the type of value we can offer our supporters" he said. "For far less than the cost of one major concert in Dublin, fans can get to see world class opponents and provide Brian's team with the support they deserve", Rooney added.

"We are delighted to bring the best possible opposition to Dublin for the squad and the fans. It is hugely important that we provide our senior team with the right type of fixtures in preparation for the World Cup 2006 qualifiers and equally that we provide our supporters with the most attractive games available at great value", the CEO said.

While the cost of mounting international fixtures is rising all the time, the costs associated with the game against Brazil are exceptionally high. Despite this, prices have been set at an extremely attractive package rate very much in line with our pricing structure for adults and children at the current (friendly match) levels and still below that for competitive games.

Extra children's tickets have been allocated by limiting the ground's capacity to 44,000. Rather than fill the ground with 48,000 adults, we have kept overall capacity to 44,000 to enable us to allocate 5,000 children's tickets. "We want to bring new supporters to the game all the time and the structure we are setting out helps us achieve this", he said.

Rooney added that he firmly believed football is in the entertainment business and the type of packaging we're embarking on reflects that view adding value for consumers as well as helping develop the FAI brand.

Tickets for season/ten year ticket holders/blockbookers will be available through the normal channels. Additional tickets will go on sale to the public on Thursday February 5th through Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.
