Liam Brady announced the 40 man squad for the forthcoming training camp and 2 Irish friendlies which will see Giovanni Trapattoni's reign begin.
Liam Brady said to FAI.ie
"A preliminary squad of 40 players has been selected with the the help of Don Givens for the training camp in May and the two Internationals against Serbia and Columbia on May 24 and May 29.
"We will be outlining the programme to these 40 players in next few days and that squad will be reduced to 28 in early May."

It will be interesting to see how many stay in the frame and who gets pulled out but Robbie Keane has also retained the captains armband for the time being
