The Republic of Ireland will have a fully fit squad to choose from when they face Switzerland in Basel on Wednesday evening looking to ensure maximum points from the opening two World Cup qualifiers. Having comfortably beaten Cyprus 3-0 in the opening World Cup qualifier, Brian Kerr’s men are facing their first real test of the campaign – at a venue with bad memories for Ireland.

In 2003 Ireland's Euro 2004 dreams came crashing down as Ireland were comprehensively beaten by the Swiss. A 2-0 defeat ruined Brian Kerr's men a place in the playoffs at least. A win tonight will be sweet revenge for the Irish.

Damien Duff took a full part in training on Tuesday morning and Kerr admitted that, although he’s not fully fit, he is likely to play while everyone else also took a full part in training.

With John O’Shea out, Kerr has a number of difficult decisions to consider ahead of the game though, as always, he was keeping his cards close to his chest.

Not many changes are expected in the Irish side but Alan Maybury is favourite to replace John O'Shea at leftback and Roy Keane will come in for Everton's Kevin Kilbane or Cardiff City's Graham Kavanagh.

Probabale Line Up: Given, Carr, Cunningham, O'Brien, Maybury, Reid, Keane, Kilbane/Kavanagh, Duff, Keane, Morrison.
