Robbie Keane signed for his boyhood club Liverpool in a deal worth 19 Million plus to Spurs. The deal also involved Liverpool paying towards a Tottenham charity and now the North London club dropped their case against the Reds over their approches to the Dubliner.

It takes Keanes transfer dealings to over 57 Million sterling throughout his career. He bagged over 100 goals for Spurs and now hopes to make an impact with the club he supported as a boy. The Republic of Ireland record goalscorer was honoured to wear the legendary no 7 shirt for the Anfield side.

He said

"To wear that shirt is an honour, and something I truly understand. If I can have half as much success in it as Keegan and Dalglish did, I will be a happy man."

"I've been waiting for this day since I was a kid. Everyone knows I am a massive Liverpool fan, so to be sitting here today in a Liverpool tracksuit is a dream come true. I always wanted to be a footballer as a kid, but also to play for Liverpool."
