Reserves Tierney and Partridge let go

Partridge, who joined Liverpool as an 18 year old, only made two substitute appearences in the Carling Cup for the newly crowned European Champions this season, and is being let go as part of a big summer clearout at Anfield.

The 23 year old, who spent time on loan with Coventry City in 2004 will be waiting anxiously for offers from clubs who are wiling to give the Irishman a chance, despite his recent troubles with injury.

Over at Old Trafford, Paul Tierney, who 2 years was hotly tipped for success at the highest level with Manchester United and Ireland, is part of a mass exodus from the club.

Salford born Tierney spent the majority of the season past on loan at League 1 side Bradford City. The versatile 22 year old can play at either left back or in midfield and shouldn't find the task of finding a new club too daunting.

Northern Ireland international Roy Carroll was the biggest casualty of the clearout, surprisingly releases despite winning his no.1 spot back from American Tim Howard. The Fermanagh native is wanted by several Premiership clubs including Arsenal, Everton and former club Wigan Athletic.
