Last updated : 26 March 2010 By Paul Jennings
The Republic of Ireland will start the 2012 Euro's away to Armenia on Friday, 3rd of September and will play Andorra at thenew Aviva Stadium for the first time on Tuesday 7th of September. The draw took place earlier today in Tel Aviv

Giuovanni Trapattoni said on www.fai.ie

"I am happy with this draw and the early fixtures represent good opportunities for us and it is always good to finish at home. On balance, these fixtures are better than those we had in the previous World Cup qualification campaign. I also think the squad will have benefitted from the significant steps forward made against top sides like Bulgaria, Montenegro, Italy, France and Brazil."

They face some tough away trips in Russia, Slovakia, and Macedonia during th campaign. The last 2 fixtures see the Republic play Andorra away and Armenia at home which means we problably won't face our direct opponents at the end of the campaign.
