Reading turned down

Last updated : 11 June 2008 By Paul Jennings
Reading have been told to increase their bid for Dundee United striker Noel Hunt. The Royals bid £400,000 for the Waterford man but were told to increase the money by United. Hunt who joined Dunfermline from Eircom club Shamrock Rovers has proven to be a success in Scotland.

Since joining Dunfermline in 2003 where he won their young player of the year award his game has steadily progressed. He joined Dundee United in 2006 and has been a revelation for the tangerines.

If Hunt moves to Reading it is unlikely he will link up with older brother Stephen for long as the Irish international wants to play in the Premier League again.
