Four times capped Irish International midfielder Alan Quinn has completed his move to Sheffield United having been released by Sheffield Wednesday at the end of last season.

Blades boss Neil Warnock had been looking for a replacement midfielder for Michael Brown who joined Spurs in January, and in Quinn he feels he has found a player to fill the void.

'I think Alan has been treading water for the last 12 to 18 months,' said Warnock.

'The change of club will do him good and I don't feel he will have a problem moving across the city because Sheffield Wednesday have released him.

'I will be looking to Alan to take the pressure off Michael Tonge and in some ways to replace Michael Brown.

The Ireland midfielder's last cap came in the 1-0 win over Holland in Amersterdam three weeks ago.
