Partridge is currently recovering from an ankle operation and such injuries have seen his Anfield career so far fail to reach the heights that many predicted for the young Dubliner.
He spent most of the 2002/2003 season out on loan at Coventry, where he impressed with some stunning individual goals. Partridge's only competitive contribution to the Liverpool first team came in the FA Cup in 2001 when he helped them to an eight nil win over their opponents with a man of the match performance.
The youngster's involvement was minimal under the guidance of the since departed Gerard Houllier, but the imminent announcement of new manager has obviously encouraged Partridge to stay put.
Turning 24 in September, the winger has captained Ireland at U21 level but so far failed to figure in Brian Kerr's plans.
