Overseas Round Up: Keano, Duff, Carsley...

Damien Duff didn't get on the scoresheet within 5 minutes in Chelsea's clash with Newcastle but his side did consolidate their Top of the Table status in a 4-0 thumping of Newcastle. Duff was fouled by compatriot Shay Given in the 90th minute and Mateja Kezman chipped wonderfully for Chelsea's fourth.

Kenny Cunnigham endured a torrid time from Theirry Henry & Co. as Arsenal fired a warning to their rivals in a 3-0 win over Birmingham. Clinton Morrison came off the bench for Brum and almost scored with his first touch when Arsenal keeper Almunia fumbled his shot.

Kevin Kilbane and Lee Carsley were again influential for David Moyes' Everton as they 'did a job' on Bolton Wanderers. Twice behind, Everton equalised both times before Raidi Jaidi sliced into his own net to keep Everton flying high in 3rd.

Roy Keane and in-form Rory Delap tangled at Old Trafford when Southampton came to visit. And the Saints defended stoutly until the 52nd minute when United broke the deadlock. After that it was one way traffic and it finished 3-0. Liam Miller was an unused substitute for United.

Robbie Keane, who had a night to forget infront of goal on Wednesday continued the rehabilitation under Martin Jol at Spurs when he scored the only goal of the game against Steven Reid's Balckburn Rovers. Keane’s fellow Dubliner Stephen Kelly started his first Premiership game of the season at right back, helping the White Hart Lane side to their second successive league clean sheet.

Steve Finnan played at right back for Liverpool as they followed up wins at Arsenal and Spurs with a disappointing 1-1 at Aston Villa. Liverpool dominated the game and really should have taken 3 points.

Meanwhile:
Paddy Kenny - one of three Irishmen in the Sheffield United starting line-up - and Millwall midfielder Kevin Muscat were dismissed by referee Iain Williamson after a clash at half-time. Graham Stack started for Millwall with Irish international Alan Quinn was in the middle for Sheffiled.

The home side went ahead shortly after the interval but the Blades - with defender Phil Jagielka in goal - hit back and Irish full back Derek Geary netted his first goal for the club with a sensational winning volley in the 85th minute.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Andy Reid put Nottingham Forest ahead early on as Joe Kinnear’s side defeated QPR at the City Ground, the result lifting the Reds out of the bottom two.
