“John O’Shea had a scan today which revealed a small tear on his lower thigh muscle, just above the knee. As there is too little time for him to recover before Wednesday’s game he will not travel to Switzerland with the squad," said manager Brian Kerr.
Also on the injury front, Damien Duff has been told to rest for the next few days making him a doubt for the match with a calf problem while Graham Kavanagh is also receiving treatment.
"Damien Duff got a kick on a calf muscle during yesterday’s game and he is receiving treatment. He will not train for the next couple of days.
"Graham Kavanagh has a slight twist to his ankle and is also receiving treatment.
"Stephen Carr is expected to be fit and well for Wednesday’s game after a slight stomach problem.
"All other players are fit and well for the game.”
