John O'Shea has hit back at suggestions that Liam Brady may get a frosty welcome when he meets up with the Irish squad as part of Trapattoni's backroom staff. It is thought some memb ers of the squad are upset with Bradys comments during his time on the RTE panel and in particular his criticism of Steve Staunton.

O'Shea told Independent.ie

"Not at all, it's all part and parcel of being involved with football,".
"It's not worrying me anyway.

"Without a doubt it's got to be a good thing, bringing him in. He was such a talented player himself and has proven his success with Arsenal bringing through talented players. His experience is vital and it'll be very important, his connection, knowing all the players and helping out the new coaching team."

The Manchester United defender has spoken to both Owen Hargreaves and Sir Alex Ferguson about the new Ireland manager and is excited.

He said

"Most of the lads are feeling the same now."
"We can't wait to get in and see what the whole set-up is about and see how they get their ideas across. For a man to come to Ireland when he's had such success throughout his career, well, obviously he wants to achieve more and see what he can do with the team.

"There's bit of nerves about meeting up now as we will in May but that's the exciting part. It's like a new manager coming into a club, you have to prove yourself again and that can only be good."

"After that you've got your summer break, pre-season and next thing you know you've got World Cup qualifiers. This time is going to be vitally important, getting to know the team, getting to know their ideas. I can't underestimate how important it's going to be."
