O'Leary is STILL waiting for that elusive contract

The delay in finalizing the Dubliner’s contract has caused much unrest, with seven weeks having passed since O’Leary claimed that he could put pen to paper within 48 hours!

With Villa riding high in the top half of the Premiership again this season, the supporters are understandably keen for the club to reach agreement with O’Leary.

But the 46-year-old insists he will not sign on until assistant boss Roy Aitken and fitness guru Steve McGregor are also offered new contracts.

He said: “I have a small staff who I have brought with me. I’m not going to just sign any contract without them being offered new ones as well. If I’m going to stay, I need certain people. Hopefully it will be sorted out soon and then I can get on with my job.”
