Former Republic of Ireland defender Kevin Moran has praised Celtic 'stand in' centre half Darren O'Dea. Moran who represents O'Dea feels the Dublin born player can force his way into the Celtic team. O'Dea came on for injured stalwart Stephen McManus against Rangers and played well last weekend.
Moran said in the Glasgow Herald
"He's got an opportunity now, although there's only a few games left.
"It was nice for him to come on at the weekend. Darren always prepares himself extremely well. It's not easy to come off the bench and fit in to such a pivotal role. It's different for a striker, who is maybe half-expecting to come on.
"It has been a bit frustrating for him this season but mentally he is very strong as he has proven. Darren thought about going on loan but the manager said 'I want you to stay here' so that was the end of it. He loves it at Celtic. All footballers are impatient but Darren has a great future ahead of him."
