Nominees for eircom International Soccer Awards

Last updated : 17 December 2005 By Gerry Ormonde
The three are vying for the Senior International Player award which was won last year by Kevin Kilbane. Kevin Doyle is listed in two categories. In the Young International Player section he is nominated along with Stephen Elliott and Andy Reid while in the Under 21 Player section he is joined by Wayne Henderson and Jay Tabb.

Cork City's Joe Gamble and George O'Callaghan are nominated in the eircom League Player section along with Peter Hutton of Derry City.

Clinton Morrison's goals against Israel (away) on 26th March and at home to China on 29th March are nominated, along with Robbie Keane's goal against Israel (home) on 4th June, in the International Goal of the Year section. This category was introduced last year and once again members of the public will have a chance to vote for their favourite goal this year. Details of the public involvement in this section will be announced in January.

The Awards, which will be presented in Citywest Hotel, Saggart Co Dublin on Sunday night 26th February, will be shown live on RTE Two at 8pm. 17 Awards will be presented on the night including the Special Merit and Hall of Fame Awards and the International Personality Award, which this year goes to former FIFA Referee, Pierluigi Collina.

The nominee selections were made by a judging panel from the Soccer Writers Association of Ireland.
