“He was injured a lot at Millwall and picked up one straight away at Blackburn. But last season he took his chance. I was at a few of his games and it was the best that I had ever seen of him.”
“He’s got off to a good start this year as well. He did well for Blackburn against West Ham last weekend. I was impressed with him in training so I gave him a go on the inside right of midfield.”
When asked if he would be tempted to play him in the French game, Kerr said, “I could. I might.”
Kerr wasn’t quite so positive about the chances of Stephen Elliott. “ He has not been at his best for Sunderland otherwise he’d have started against Charlton. He did alright in his 10 minutes during the game and he did alright during his spell against Italy.”
“Throwing him in against those sharks was going to be tough for him. It’s a bit different to playing against the Faroes.”
