Roy Keane is at it again with new club Ipswich Town. The former Manchester United midfielder signed numerous amounts of Irish players at his time in Sunderland in his time there. Now it seems he is starting again with the signing of Damien Delaney for the Tractor Boys.
Delaney is a Cork native and his position is left back. He has played with Cork City,Leicester City, Hull City and QPR. Delaney leaves QPR having broken into Giovanni Trapattoni's squad making two appearances over the past two years.
He told http://www.itfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10272~1712410,00.html
"Roy Keane is an ambitous manager and it is clear he would not have come to this club if it was not going places."
"The manager has said the target this year is to win promotion to the Premier League and this is what I have come here for."
Delaney hoped the move and regular football may help his cause in the Irish team.
He said
"Its the World Cup year coming up and I'd love to be involved with Ireland." he continued "If I can do well for Ipswich and have a successful year on the pitch then hopefully that can progress onto the International side."
