Kavanagh included in squad for must-win Swiss tie

Kavanagh last played for the Republic on his international debut against the Czech Republic in Olamuc five years ago, in Mick McCarthy's second year in charge.

Gary Breen, Shay Given, Robbie Keane and John O'Shea all return to the suqad, having missed the recent friendly draw with Turkey. Centre half Richard Dunne misses out with injury.
