Irish squad to be announced

With the vital games against Italy and Montenegro scheduled for next month Giovanni Trapattoni will announce his squad on this Friday(22nd) afternoon. With Stephen Ireland firmly closing the door on his country at the weekend press focus will be on Andy Reid. The Sunderland midfielder is hoping for at least a recall to the squad. Having spent the summer getting fit, and scoring 3 times for Sunderland(2 in the League Cup) the Dubliner is keeping his fingers crossed.
Stephen Reid will also be hoping he can get back with Blackburn soon to try and stake a claim in the Irish squad. The squad will not stray from the managers loyalty to certain mambers of his squad so no major changes are expected.
