The Republic of Ireland have dropped a place in the latest Fifa rankings list down to 39th. They are now 11 places behind Northern Ireland in the list with Nigel Worthington's side climbing one place to 28th.

Kevin Kilbane is being tracked by Sheffield United manager Bryan Robson. If Wigan sell the player it could cost the Blades £1.5M.

Sunderland still haven't agreed a fee with Cork City over the transfer of Roy O'Donovan. If he goes as expected the transfer could rise to a Eircom League record of 1 Million Euro.

Sheffield United stopper Paddy Kenny has made himself available for the Republic of Ireland again after making himself unavailable for the Autumn matches due to personal problems.

He Said "I've tried contacting Stan and Alan Kelly. I'll try them again and make myself available for the squad again".

"We had personal problems and I wanted to take time to sort them out"
