Roy Keane has lavished praise on Irish International Daryl Murphy calling recent form as "outstanding".

Keane said:

"Daryl particularly over the last four or five weeks has been outstanding. I had a good chat with him. There was speculation he might be going here there and everywhere. I had a chat and told him basically we are delighted with him and he is going nowhere.

"Players need that sometimes. Every player just sometimes needs a five-minute chat to say, 'Listen, we are delighted with you'. He's a good pro, he trains well, he looks like a footballer, he is a good athlete and he is doing well for us."

Meanwhile Michael Chopra thinks Andy Reid may help him to start scoring again. Chopra who was scoring for fun at Cardiff last season has scored once from the penalty spot in his last 20 games. He cited Reids playmaking ability to help him and Sunderlands other strikers score more goals

He said:

"What helps me is when people find my runs, and in Reid we've got a player who can. At Cardiff we had Stephen McPhail and whenever I made a run he could find me and hopefully Reid can do this season.

"I always knew how good a player Reid is. His passing ability is fantastic and I believe a lot of our players will benefit from that."

Everton are to offer Lee Carsley another one year contract despite the facthe nearly left for Wigan at the start of the season. His displays for the Toffees this term have been outstanding and he will be rewarded with a new one year deal. The 34-year-old central midfielder has 22 Premier League and with Everton hunting fourth-place or the UEFA cup Moyes is keen to hang onto the experienced Irish International

Barcelona assistant manager Johan Neeskens doesn't rate Aiden McGeady that highly. Neeskens feels McGeady doesn't have the class or belief to go toe to toe with the Catalans.

He said:

"It is very difficult to say if a player has the quality to play for Barcelona. He is a very good player and he has demonstrated it in the Celtic team, and of course every player of his age can improve.

"He is an interesting player but the players that we have right now at Barcelona are interesting and we are happy with them."
