Graham Kavanagh has asked Sunderland manager Roy Keane to let him extend his loan with the Owls. He is due to end his loan deal at the end of the Month but the former Stoke and Cardiff midfielder seems to be set on staying with Sheffield Wednsday if given the green light by Sunderland.

Mark Yeates scored his fifth goal of the Coca-Cola Championship season and a remarkable third free kick strike in a week and a half. His club Colchester United put QPR under more pressure as the Loftus road side stay rooted to the bottom of the table .

Republic of Ireland under-21 international Yeates scored free kicks against Blackpool last Saturday week His goal helped the U's to a 4-2 win, only a second victory in nine league games for them.


Meanwhile Robbie Keane came off the bench to secure a draw in Cyprus for Spurs. The tie was already over from a 6-1 first leg win but Keane got onto the end of a Gareth Bale cross to fire in a goal for Spurs and save the blushes. Joey and Andy O'Brien both featured for Bolton in their 2-1 aggregate victory over MK Rabotnicki in the Reebok last night.
