There are some dangerous opponents in the third pot, such as as Ukraine (impressive World Cup qualifiers), Denmark (recent thrashers of England 4-1) and Serbia and Montenegro (currently the meanest defence in world football).

There are six groups of seven teams, and one group of eight (including an extra team from the bottom pot). Winners and runners-up qualify to join hosts Switzerland and Austria.
